What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis happens when tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places — commonly the ovaries, fallopian tubes and the lining of the pelvis. Each month it responds to hormones, bleeds and causes inflammation. The result is pain that can be constant, cyclical or unpredictable.
