Pharmacy Terms
These Pharmacy Terms explain how Amorae Wellness Ltd (“Amorae”, “we”, “us”) works with independent prescribing clinicians and our partner pharmacy when a customer is referred as a patient for a prescription-only treatment.
Important: Amorae Intimate — our CBD pessary subscription — is a wellness product sold directly by Amorae Wellness Ltd. It is not a prescription medicine and is not supplied through the pharmacy. These Pharmacy Terms do not apply to your Amorae Intimate subscription — please see our Terms and Conditions for that.
1. About these terms
These Pharmacy Terms describe the optional referral pathway available through amorae.co.uk, where Amorae may connect a customer, as a patient, with an independent prescribing clinician and our partner pharmacy. They set out who does what, what to expect, and where to go if something goes wrong.
By using the referral pathway you accept these Pharmacy Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not proceed with a referral.
2. When these terms apply
These terms apply only when Amorae refers you, as a patient, to an independent prescribing clinician and/or our partner pharmacy for a prescription-only treatment. Referrals are occasional and made on a case-by-case basis where we believe a clinician may be able to help.
They do not apply to your use of the Site generally, to the purchase of Amorae Intimate, or to any other Amorae wellness product.
3. Our role
Amorae Wellness Ltd operates the online platform that connects customers with licensed clinicians and our partner pharmacy. We may facilitate the referral, the online consultation workflow, the transmission of the prescription to the pharmacy, and the logistics of dispensing and delivery.
Amorae does not itself prescribe, dispense, or supply medicinal products. We are not your healthcare provider for prescribed treatments, and we do not make clinical decisions on your care.
4. The prescribing clinician
Prescriptions are issued only by an independent healthcare professional who is registered with the appropriate UK regulator (for example the General Pharmaceutical Council, the General Medical Council, or the Nursing and Midwifery Council, depending on their role).
The clinician will review the information you provide and decide whether a prescription-only treatment is clinically appropriate for you. They may request further information, decline to prescribe, or recommend that you speak with your GP. Their clinical judgement is their own — Amorae does not influence, override, or approve clinical decisions.
5. The dispensing pharmacy
Where a prescription is issued, it is sent to our partner pharmacy for dispensing:
Holford Pharmacy
Operated by Holford Pharmacy Ltd
71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ
GPhC Registration Number: 9012984
Superintendent Pharmacist: Saima Aziz (GPhC 2081044)
You can verify the pharmacy and superintendent pharmacist on the GPhC public register. The pharmacy operates under its own terms of service and under the standards set by the General Pharmaceutical Council. The pharmacy is responsible for dispensing your medicine safely and accurately.
6. Eligibility for the referral pathway
To use the referral pathway you must:
- be aged 18 or over;
- be resident in the United Kingdom;
- have the legal capacity to consent to treatment; and
- provide accurate, complete and truthful information about your health and medical history.
7. How a referral works
- Where relevant, Amorae identifies that a prescription-only treatment may be appropriate and offers to refer you.
- You opt in and become a patient of the independent clinician for the purposes of that consultation.
- You complete an online health questionnaire, which the clinician reviews.
- If the clinician considers it clinically appropriate, they issue a prescription. If not, they will explain why.
- The prescription is sent to Holford Pharmacy, who dispense the medicine.
- The pharmacy arranges discreet delivery to your UK address.
8. Prescription-only medicines
Prescription-only medicines are supplied only where the clinician judges them to be clinically appropriate for you. Neither the clinician nor the pharmacy is obliged to prescribe or dispense, and either may refuse where they consider it unsafe or otherwise not in your interest. This is a normal and important part of safe prescribing.
9. Patient responsibilities
When using the referral pathway you agree to:
- answer every questionnaire fully and honestly, including all relevant medical history, current medicines and allergies;
- read the patient information leaflet provided with any medicine and follow the instructions;
- tell your GP about any prescribed treatment where appropriate;
- report suspected side effects to the MHRA Yellow Card scheme and to the clinician or pharmacy; and
- seek urgent medical attention (for example NHS 111 or 999) if you experience a serious adverse reaction.
10. Fees
Any consultation, prescription and pharmacy dispensing fees are separate from your Amorae Intimate subscription. You will be shown the applicable fees before you confirm any prescribed treatment, and no payment for a prescription is taken without your consent.
The price of any medicine is set by the pharmacy. Amorae does not add its own margin to prescribed medicines.
11. Cancellations, returns and medicines
For safety and quality reasons, dispensed medicines cannot be returned or refunded once they have left the pharmacy. This is a statutory exception to the usual cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
This does not affect your statutory rights in respect of your Amorae Intimate subscription — please see our Terms and Conditions.
12. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please tell us. The quickest way to reach a person is to email support@amorae.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and work with you to resolve it.
Complaints about clinical care or the dispensing of medicines may be escalated to Holford Pharmacy directly and, if you remain unhappy, to the General Pharmaceutical Council. Complaints about a clinician’s conduct may also be raised with their professional regulator.
13. Regulators
- General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) — regulates pharmacies and pharmacists in Great Britain.
- Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) — regulates medicines and receives Yellow Card safety reports.
- The clinician’s own professional regulator — for example the GMC, NMC, or GPhC, depending on the clinician.
14. Data and confidentiality
Your clinical records — including questionnaire answers, consultation notes and prescription records — are held by the independent clinician and by Holford Pharmacy as separate data controllers, under their own privacy notices and professional duties of confidentiality.
Amorae processes the limited personal data needed to facilitate the referral and the delivery. For a full explanation of how Amorae uses your data, please read our Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Pharmacy Terms from time to time — for example to reflect changes in our partners, in regulation, or in the referral pathway. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change whenever we do. Where a change materially affects you, we will let you know by email or through the Site before it takes effect.
